Performance Text

YOU ARE AFRAID OF BECOMING MONSTROUS

YOU IMAGINE OTHERS RECOILING FROM YOUR IMAGE

YOU MIXED THE SOIL FROM THE DEAD POTTED PLANT WITH DIRT FROM THE BLOCK ON WHICH YOU LIVE

YOU FETISHIZE YOUR NEGLECT

YOU DIDN’T WATER YOUR PLANTS FOR DAYS

YOU POURED THE SALT IN A CIRCLE

YOU REMOVED YOUR CLOTHES AND FOLDED THEM AND PLACED THEM IN A PILE

YOU STAYED WITHIN THE SPACE YOU HAD DELINEATED

YOU FIND YOURSELF FAR AGAIN

YOU LAY DOWN ON YOUR BACK IN THE PARKING LOT

YOU HAVE IMAGINED IN DETAIL YOUR MANY DEATHS

YOU MIX THE DIRT WITH WATER

YOU RUB UP AGAINST YOUR LANGUAGE

YOU LET IT ANIMATE YOU

YOU MOVED WHEN THEY TOLD YOU TO MOVE

YOU LOOKED INTO THE LENS

YOU HAVE LOOKED THROUGH THE TRANSPARENCY OF SO MANY SOLID BODIES

YOU FOUND NO ONE IN THERE
